My name is Matt Bowen and I am the Instructional Lead Teacher at ALES. I grew up in Marietta but have lived in Bartow County since 2008. I graduated from Sprayberry High School in 1997, completed a degree in Marketing in 2002, my early childhood education degree in 2005 from Kennesaw State University, and got my master’s degree in K-5 Mathematics at Walden University in 2014. I have been teaching at Allatoona Elementary since 2005.

A few more fun facts about me: -I taught 4th grade for nine years and 5th grade for 5 years. All at ALES and have now been the ILT since 2019. -My favorite subject is most definitely math because I love that it is like a puzzle. -I have coached fastpitch softball at Woodland High School for 16 years. -I love sports and my favorite teams are the Atlanta Braves, Atlanta Falcons, and Florida State Seminoles… Go Noles! -I can’t imagine ever working anywhere other than Allatoona Elementary School. We have the best students, parents, and community of any school in the county. -My favorite thing about being the ILT is that I get to work with EVERY student in the building and EVERY teacher as well. -It’s ALWAYS a great day to be a Wildcat! GO WILDCATS!
